Lighting in homes in the United States #017

I've been in the United States for a week now and I was noticing the lighting in my home and in the neighborhood.

In Brazil I was used to white light, many people have fluorescent or LED white light to light their homes. But at least in the city where I am, I noticed that people prefer to use yellowish light and they don't have the habit of turning on the overhead light. They prefer several weaker yellowish lights spread throughout the house rather than a strong, central white light. Looking at other people's homes, I see that some people use other colored lights in their lampshades.

For me, yellow light is very much linked to the past, I haven't seen places with this type of lighting since I was a child. It gives me a feeling of nostalgia to have come here and still see this reality. I don't know if other places in the country are like this, but it's interesting.

Americans say that lighting the house like this makes it cozier, which is true in a way, but deep down, I feel like shining a white light on everything, in short, the cultural differences.
